production- Voice-over progress
I had in mind for voices something cartoony, as I more than likely have mentioned already. I found voice actors, one of which has sent the entirety of their characters lines. I initially wanted voice memos, as iPhone provide you to send those to other iPhones. That didn''t seem to be working for this actor for whatever reason. Instead, I opted to just have him send me a video with no visuals and just audio. I legitimately laughed out loud upon hearing the line delivery. I liked it quite a lot. I did my own recordings in a voice I thought meshed well with this actor's character. The two characters themselves don't interact. However, I don't want to sacrifice consistency with voice-acted characters for the sake of having everyone sound varied. If one of them is comedically squeaky, the other character sounding like a normal person would be maybe a little jarring. So, everyone at the picnic blanket is silly, and for Mickey i'm doing an exaggerated boyish english accent. He's silly but relatable enough to be friends with Terra.
I saved the videos and converted them in to audio files. This I could only accomplish after cycling through audio file apps. After a while of downloading and deleting apps off the app store, I found MP3 converter. I found that this was the only one out of the apps that I downloaded that did not require in-app purchases to use properly. I imported the videos first. Then, I cut out any empty space in the audio. It wasn't perfect though, you could only hear how much audio was cut after fully converting it. It was enough though, he audio wasn't crunchy sounding or anything, so I just cut up the audio to my liking and I had my audio files. My own recordings became files immediately, so that was easy enough. This process will be repeated for my other two voice actors.
