And finally, my CCR

Final Task

Coming to a close

I'm finished. I've had many setbacks but I'm finally one. I think I can say that it turned out okay. There are many things I would have liked to be different. I ended up finding a title font I liked better though, so that's a good thing. I might actually add an overlay of color to the whole film, just to give it a slightly more colorful look. But that's just a stretch. I'll likely leave it as is, since it doesn't have the same effect as natural lighting. I do like to think that if this were a full feature film, it would be more colorful. Especially if the implied party scene, as opposed to the party decorating scene that I made, hypothetically existed. Upon finishing, I found I was most proud of my sound design. I had to lower the music at some points, because my garage made the audio less clear than it would be in, say, a recording studio. At some points I had to lower our voices because after the garage closed, our voices were too loud. I needed to make s

Changes

I ended up using my mothers phone to edit with the app I’m used to. But since I have no space to download and send my original work, I had to start over. But that gives me room to make changes from the review. I made the lighting a little better on the shots where the quality was less than ideal. I also chose slightly better music. The jazzy thing wasn’t cutting it. I chose something a little more slice of life-y and relaxing, which maybe fits the tone of a drama. At least the start, when it’s less than dramatic. The song is royalty free for convenience. It’s called Pancake, which I think is just delightful. Many of the songs by the artist has food names. Which funnily enough is something Jack Stauber, my first choice in song artist, did for an Album for his Adult Swim shorts a while back. I reshot one of my solo shots. It’s the water bottle reaction shot. I feel like my acting was less than Oscar-worthy in the original shot. Putting on the same outfit and getting the lighting right w

Production- problems arise

Phone storage problems have caught up to me. I didn't think I'd be able to finish editing on my phone. Chances are I probably can't. Lack of storage make it so I can't properly download clips on to it. It also makes my phone buggy. Or maybe it was buggy anyway.  Sometimes I can't open the app I use to edit at all. I want to be able to add the things I noted from my review soon though. I'm supposed to get a new phone soon, but I don't think it'll be in time for my deadline. I tried to edit on my tablet but it posed problems too. Arguably it was worse. My tablet is used mostly by my brother. He doesn't take very good care of it, so I think that's the source of any hardware issues, if that's the case. If not, then it's software. regardless, it's incredibly buggy. I needed to email myself the clips if I were to work on it. It wouldn't let me open my email on the web. I then tied to just download an app and sign in with my email. That

Film Review

Finally finished! Ive shown the video to someone who knows nothing of this project. I was worried they wouldn’t get the gist of the ghost whose invisible but not quite. But they did. They were concerned about the lighting still. I suppose I still have final touches to make there. The music could have fitted better as well. At least that’s what I was told.  I’ll give it a change. Something a little bouncier. I still need to find something without copyright. The Jack Stauber thing isn’t going to work out. At least not in the foreseeable future. The ghost also didn’t look very ghost-y. That isn’t something I can change at this point. What I can change is the shots that I was in. I’ll put on the same outfit and make use of zoom-ins, maybe even the camera moving. I’ll likely just get my mother go help there. I’d reshoot with Amanda as my ghost but that also isn’t super possible in the foreseeable future.

Production- Editing day

I’ve ended up recording the voiceovers myself. It worked fine, just deepened my voice a bit. I would have had Amanda do it, but she was sick. Her voice would have had variation but it would have been nasally. I’m pressed for time at this point as well. But it worked out fine in that regard. My concern for the most part was the video quality. It improved a bit when I made some lighting edits. I had to decrease shadows. I had to have backlight for most of the scenes, which led to a silhouette effect. This would maybe have worked under the right circumstances. But I did not have those. The silhouette would have to be clear. But, me and Amanda’s silhouettes were overlapping. They were pretty fuzzy too. It improved when I fixed shadows though. Not only that, but the timing was off, I had to chop some clips and make the most of others. So far so good.
